7:00 pm: Mindfulness to Calm the Anxious Brain while Increasing Focus and Self-Regulation.
with Monica Jordan Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Master’s Certificate in Mind, Brain and Teaching (MCMBT)

Chances are, if you are like most people, you may find it challenging to calm your mind when you are overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts. You may also have experienced bouts of anxiety about your work, your relationships, your children, or your lack of time or purpose in life.

An amazing amount of scientific research suggests that Mindfulness may be crucial to deal with one of the biggest health issues facing the world today: Stress & Anxiety. So how can you learn to self-regulate your emotions, be calmer, more centered and less stressed? How can you increase your focus and at the same time self-regulate your emotions? How can you reframe your perception towards the challenges in your life that stress you out? If you would like to be more present for yourself and others, if you would like more joy in your life, then this workshop is for you.

Monica Jordan holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Master’s Certificate in Mind, Brain and Teaching (MCMBT), graduating summa cum laude, from Johns Hopkins University. Besides offering three decades of teaching experience for adolescents and adults, Monica is also the creator of a three level research-based course for adults titled “Neurobiology of Stress Management – Mindfulness and Meditation Tools for Resilience”, which she currently teaches to integrate brain science and Mindfulness, and raise awareness of one’s experience, restructure the architecture of the brain through neuro-plasticity, develop habits of mind to handle stressors, and bring joy and vibrancy into one’s life.

These courses are available at InnerSource Inc., a holistic clinic in Annapolis, and at Adoro Clinic in Severna Park, both in Maryland. Monica offers workshops, talks, retreats, and seminars including Mindful Parenting, Mindfulness for Educators, Mindfulness for Doctors, Psychologists, Social Workers and Nurses, workshops on Mindfulness for Tweens, Teens and their Parents, and Mindful Communication.
