7:00 pm: Development of Executive Skills and Everyday Routines

Dr. Mahaney will discuss the relationship between brain development and executive skills development, and provide suggestions for teaching everyday routines to optimize functioning.

Bio: Dr. Mahaney is a licensed clinical psychologist certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology as both a clinical neuropsychologist and a subspecialist in pediatric clinical neuropsychology. Her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Loyola University and doctorate in human development from the University of Maryland reflect her interests in the identification and treatment of various brain-based differences that affect attention, learning, mood, and behavior in children, adolescents, and adults.  

Dr. Mahaney has recently returned to Maryland from California having enjoyed working over
twenty-five years in a successful private neuropsychology practice serving a wide range of
individuals affected by ADHD, developmental learning disorders, traumatic brain injury,
autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and depression. She is particularly skilled in detecting
how one’s brain works and identifying the conditions that help one function as his or her
best self. She is a member of the Chesapeake ADHD Center with locations in Annapolis,
North Bethesda, and Silver Spring, Maryland.
