7:00 pm: Mindfulness for ADHD and Executive Functioning Challenges

Liz Ahmann, SCD, RN, ACC - Registered Nurse, ADHD coach, and mindfulness instructor - will present about the impact of mindfulness practice on symptom management and quality of life for individuals with ADHD and Executive Functioning challenges.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of what mindfulness and meditation are and the ways in which practicing mindfulness and meditation can reduce ADHD symptoms and improve life management, relationships and quality of life. Research has demonstrated improvements in attention, memory, emotional regulation and stress, as well as in anxiety and depression, with mindfulness training. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to try a number of mindfulness exercises that can be applied in everyday life. Surprisingly, research shows that mindfulness training alone, even without further practice, confers benefits!
