Welcome to CHADD of Anne Arundel County, Maryland!

We're glad you're here!  CHADD of Anne Arundel County has a long history of supporting individuals and families struggling with the effects of AD/HD.  It is a dynamic organization that can make a big difference in your life, whether you are seeking help for yourself, a child, other family members or a friend.

We are a group of volunteers who know from firsthand experience the impact AD/HD can have on a life and a family!  Our Chapter networks with local experts of all kinds who seek to provide help, support and understanding wherever it is needed.  Plus our connection to the CHADD National organization means we have access to tremendous resources that none of us could possibly have on our own.

We also build awareness and understanding in the community about attention disorders to create a better environment for those with AD/HD.  We provide educational presentations to schools, workplaces and other programs to bring the latest information regarding the disorder as well as interventions that work.

Please look around our website and then come out for a visit.  Be sure to follow the links below and join CHADD National for all the wonderful things membership does for us all.  For those who have gotten through the difficulties and been helped by CHADD, won't you please consider serving others by joining us as a volunteer - it is truly a rewarding opportunity.

Please join us at our Monthly Meetings!

If you or someone close to you has been diagnosed with AD/HD, then you may be looking for information and support.  You don't have to face it all alone!  Find hope, information and support at our monthly meetings among people who have been in the same place that you are now.

Our meetings are from 7:00pm to 9:20pm on the second Tuesday of each month (September through June) at Severna Park United Methodist Church. Each meeting features a Guest Speaker including a question and answer session, Parent and Adult Support Groups, and time to chat with others over refreshments.  You are welcome to attend just the Parent and Adult support groups if you like which are from 8:30pm to 9:20pm.

Our chapter will begin offering childcare in the adjacent room to the main meeting space on regular meeting nights, beginning with Tuesday May 12th.  You must register in advance by contacting Debbie Payton at (301) 379-5005 and leaving information regarding the age and gender of your child(ren) and your contact information.  Childcare will be held from 6:50pm - 9:00pm and will cost $5 per child.  Each child must be potty-trained to attend.  Please bring some activities with your child(ren) to help keep them entertained during the evening.  There will be some activities available as well.  Please be aware of the following rules: there will be no hitting, biting, bad language, or disrespectful behavior allowed.  We will try to use time out and other appropriate disciplinary techniques as necessary, but if your child's behavior becomes unmanageable, we may need to have you remove your child.  You will need to complete a release form and sign in your child at room 205.

Finally, a lending library is available with books, cassettes and videos for your use.  We are here for you - please take advantage of all we have to offer!  Be sure to check our Calendar Page for up-to-date schedule information and directions.

Be sure to become a member of CHADD National!

CHADD National was founded as a non-profit organization in 1987 to help deal with the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and children being impacted by AD/HD.  CHADD's ability to influence legislation on behalf of those struggling with the effects of AD/HD, and to deliver cutting-edge information and services to its members, is directly dependent on all of us joining together to make our voices heard.  Please join CHADD National and keep your membership up-to-date for its benefits and services, to help advance our mutual goals, and to support your local Anne Arundel County Chapter!

CHADD now offers its members a national magazine, national-level conferences, information and resource guides, a members-only website full of services, group discounts, and of course a network of hundreds of local chapters like our own, chock full of information, experience, contacts and support.  CHADD offers tailored membership packages including Families and Adults; Educators and Students; Professionals; and Organizations/Institutions.
