Spring 2010
Spring is in the air, finally, after all those snowy and wet days! Please come and share some evenings with us this spring. We offer you a supportive environment to share your struggles and triumphs with ADHD, to learn about new approaches and resources, and to connect with one another as we journey together on the ADD adventure trail.
If you are interested in our Parent to Parent courses, please check out the ChADD.org's P2P webpage for the latest information on live and online versions of the class. It is a fabulous, inexpensive program that addresses ADHD across the lifespan and includes a wonderful manual chock full of valuable information and resources.
There are still some vacant positions on our Board and we are continuing to actively recruit new leadership. Volunteers are also needed for small jobs, like coordinating and/or bringing refreshments to meetings, helping to set up and/or put away chairs, photocopying handouts (we pay copying fees), helping out with social media options (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), and videotaping meetings, for starters. For more information about joining our team, please contact Carol Robbins via e-mail at drcarolrobbins@gmail.com, or call us at (410) 721-2468.
We have another good line up of interesting speakers and informative topics for you. Please check it out on our Calendar Page. Hope to see you there! Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at the Severna Park United Methodist Church on Benfield Boulevard. Our chapter meetings begin with opening remarks from 7:00pm - 7:10pm, followed by our speaker presentation from 7:10pm - 8:30pm, and then our facilitated support group meetings from 8:30pm - 9:20pm, one for parents and one for adults with ADHD. We have an extensive lending library available for you to borrow materials from at our monthly meetings. We encourage all of you to join ChADD and enjoy the many benefits of membership, but everyone is welcome to our meetings regardless of membership. We ask that you do not bring children to the meetings, as it can be disruptive to the other attendees, unless they are older teenagers who can remain attentive (or quiet) throughout the meeting. Please join us for refreshments, support, information, and fun! We look forward to meeting you and to welcoming back our regular attendees.
